Azerbaijan Aircraft Sends Emergency SOS Near Daman; Surat ATC Activates Airport Emergency Protocol

An Azerbaijan-registered aircraft triggered an emergency response on Thursday night after transmitting a distress signal while flying over the Arabian Sea near Daman. The emergency alert was received by the Air Traffic Control (ATC) at Surat Airport, prompting authorities to activate the airport's emergency protocol.

According to the latest information available, the aircraft has not landed at Surat Airport.

Surat ATC Receives Emergency SOS

Officials confirmed that Surat ATC received the emergency SOS from the aircraft through the aviation communication system. Following the alert, the airport immediately activated its emergency response plan.

Security agencies, including the CISF, airport fire services, and medical teams, were placed on standby to respond if the aircraft diverted to Surat.

Aircraft Was Near Daman Coast

At the time the distress signal was received, the aircraft was reportedly flying over the Arabian Sea near Daman.
