World No. 1 tennis player Aryna Sabalenka announces engagement to Georgios Frangulis

World No 1 female tennis star Aryna Sabalenka announced engagement with Georgios Frangulis, sharing a heartwarming proposal video on her social media.

“You & me, forever ♾️ 3.3.26 💍🤍,” wrote Sabalenka in her caption to the video. In the video, the tennis player from Belarus looks visibly surprised and over the moon as Frangulis proposes to her on the knee. The video shows visuals of the couple sharing some heartfelt moments before showing the ring.

In a later post, Sabalenka said, “I can finally call him something else… FIANCÉ 💍”

On the professional front,  the Australian Open final in January 2026 was Sabalenka’s eighth final in her last 12 Grand Slam tournaments, however, she lost to Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan.

Sabalenka was in imperious touch at the tournament, charging into the eighth final from her past 12 Slams courtesy of a 6-2 6-3 semifinal trouncing of 12th-seeded Ukrainian Elina Svitolina. The world No 1 joined Evonne Goolagong Cawley and Martina Hingis as the only women to make four straight AO finals. Had she won the title in January, Sabalenka would have drawn level with nine other greats, including Maria Sharapova and Hingis — with five majors.

Her fiancé, Frangulis is the founder of Oakberry Açaí, a company offering ‘healthy bowls and smoothies’ worldwide. According to the brand’s website, it has over 600 operating stores in 35 countries including Brazil, United States, Portugal, United Kingdom, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Colombia, Germany, and Spain.
