Short circuit triggers smoke on Gujarat Titans team bus after IPL final in Ahmedabad

A mishap was avoided involving the Gujarat Titans (GT) team late on Sunday night following the IPL 2026 final. The team bus carrying players and support staff from the stadium to the hotel reportedly developed a technical fault due to a short circuit, causing smoke to spread inside the vehicle. All players and staff were safely evacuated.

According to reports, the Gujarat Titans squad had left the stadium after the final match and was heading to the team hotel. While en route, a short circuit in the bus’s wiring allegedly caused black smoke to emerge from the engine and cabin area.

The driver immediately pulled the bus over to the side of the road, while security personnel and team officials quickly evacuated the players, coaches, medical staff, and other support personnel before the situation could worsen.

Fortunately, no player or staff member was injured in the incident. The team reportedly waited by the roadside for some time before an alternative bus was arranged to transport them safely to the hotel.

All domestic and overseas players, along with the support staff, remained completely safe.
