Sania Mirza opens up about panic attacks after divorce with Shoaib Malik, credits Farah Khan for support

Former tennis star Sania Mirza has spoken candidly about a deeply personal struggle following her separation from Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. In the debut episode of her YouTube talk show, ‘Serving It Up With Sania’, she shared how filmmaker and close friend Farah Khan became her emotional anchor during one of her most vulnerable moments.
Sania revealed that soon after her divorce, she suffered a severe panic attack just before going live on a show. It was Farah’s sudden arrival and encouragement, she said, that helped her regain control and face the camera despite the emotional turmoil. Farah reportedly rushed to be by Sania’s side, abandoning her own shoot plans that day, simply to ensure her friend wasn’t alone during the crisis.
During their conversation, Farah praised Sania for the way she has balanced her personal and professional life since becoming a single mother. She commended her for working hard, managing her career, and raising her son, Izhaan, with resilience and dignity.
Sania and Shoaib married in 2010 and welcomed their son in 2018. Their separation was confirmed by Sania’s family in early 2024, soon after Shoaib Malik’s marriage to Pakistani actress Sana Javed. The family stated that Sania had parted ways with Shoaib months before and requested privacy as she navigated the difficult transition.
