Rohan Jaitley to head BCCI infrastructure committee; RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha named new men’s selectors

Rohan Jaitley, president of the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA), has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Infrastructure Committee, following the board’s 94th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Sunday in Mumbai. Jaitley will now oversee the development of new cricket facilities and the upgrade of existing stadiums across the country, a position previously held by former BCCI president Roger Binny.
Jaitley, who was re-elected as DDCA president in December 2023 after defeating former India cricketer Kirti Azad by a margin of 1,577 votes to 777, will head a committee comprising Mithun Manhas, Rajeev Shukla, Devajit Saikia, Prabhtej Bhatia, A. Raghuram Bhat, Anirudh Chaudhury, and Sana Sathish Babu.
The AGM also brought several key appointments across BCCI’s top panels. Former India fast bowler R P Singh and left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha have been inducted as new members of the men’s national selection committee, joining chairman Ajit Agarkar, Shiv Sundar Das, and Ajay Ratra.
On the women’s side, former cricketer Amita Sharma was named chair of the women’s selection committee, with Shyama Ulakshana Naik, Jaya Sharma, and Sravanthi Naidu as members. S. Sharath will continue to lead the junior selection panel, supported by Harvinder Sodhi, Pathik Patel, Krishna Mohan, and Ranadeb Bose.
In the BCCI’s executive reshuffle, Mithun Manhas succeeded Roger Binny as BCCI president, while Rajeev Shukla and Devajit Saikia were re-elected as vice-president and secretary, respectively. Prabhtej Bhatia and A. Raghuram Bhat were named joint secretary and treasurer. Jaydev Shah was chosen as the General Body representative on the Apex Council, and Arun Singh Dhumal along with M. Khairul Jamal Majumdar were elected to the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council.
Additionally, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) committee will be chaired by Jayesh George and include Manhas, Shukla, Saikia, Bhatia, Bhat, Madhumati Lele, Sanjay Tandon, R I Palani, and Dhumal.
With Rohan Jaitley taking charge of infrastructure development and new selectors like RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha joining the men’s panel, the BCCI signaled a blend of continuity and fresh leadership as it prepares for a packed domestic and international cricket calendar.
