‘RCB robbed of IPL trophy’: Fans flood X with memes after IPL 2025 suspension

The Indian Premier League 2025 season was suspended for a week due to the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan, sparking a flood of memes and reactions online—especially about Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who currently sit at 2nd position on the points table and were favourites to win the tournament.

The decision came after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off in Dharamsala on May 8 reportedly amid missile interceptions and blackout protocols. As per reports, overseas players had raised concerns over safety, prompting the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to act swiftly.

RCB, currently second on the points table with 16 points, were seen by many as favourites for the playoffs. Their narrow two-run win over Chennai Super Kings on May 3 had strengthened their position. But with the sudden suspension, fans joked that this might be the closest RCB has come to lifting the trophy.
