Raining runs: Zimbabwe club team scores 822 runs in 50 overs, wins by 794 runs

In Zimbabwe's domestic league, a club named Scorpion Cricket Club scored 822 runs in 50 overs, making the highest total in ODI format. The team also won the match with 794 runs, the highest margin victory ever in cricket.

Scorpions captain Praise Makaza won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening pair of Scorpion gave a strong start with unstoppable scoring of boundaries. Opener Wilfred Matende completed his double century within 20 overs of the match and was dismissed at 203 runs in just 75 balls, smashing 23 fours and 13 sixes.

At No.3, Vincent Moyo came for a bat and scored 78 runs in just 69 balls with eight fours and six sixes. Meanwhile, opener Takunda Madembo scored 302 runs in 143 balls with striking 50 fours and 7 sixes before he retired out.  

The batsman name Gabriel Jaya also scored a century with 110 runs in just 49 balls and remained not out which made a total of 822/4 in 50 overs.

Their opponents, Methane Lions bowlers offered 109 runs in extras, including 79 wides and 23 no-balls. Every single bowler conceded more than 100 runs in their spell.

In the second innings, Lions managed to score just 28 runs with losing 7 wickets, losing by 794 runs.
