The rain on the evening of May 25, the practice sessions did not take place, and there have been concerns over a rain-interrupted final, or worse- a washout.

However, according to the Indian Meteorological Department, the weather tonight in Chennai is likely to be cloudy, with slight chances of rain. Moreover, a private weather predictor also forecasted that though the conditions would be overcast today in Chennai, the chances of rain are bleak.

But what if the rain spoils the fun?

All the matches in the IPL 2024 were provided with 60 minutes of extra time for rain or other interruptions. The playoffs and finals, however, will have 120 minutes of extra time for the match to complete or to begin.

The match can be played for as few as five overs each to decide the winner, and if that is not possible, the winner between SRH and KKR will be decided through a super over.

Moreover, the final also has a reserve day, which means it can be played on the next day.

If play is not possible on the reserve day, too, then KKR would be declared the winner since they have finished the group stage at the top of the table.
