The Pakistan Hockey team has faced a huge embarrassment in Australia after reportedly failing to pay the hotel bill. Subsequently, it led the hotel management to cancel the booking of the team and forced players to roam around the road.

The incident reportedly took place during the second leg of the 'FIH Pro League', where the team had reached Hobart to play a match.

According to reports,  the team and officials were booked in a four-star hotel. They were assured that the advance payment had been made by the Pakistan Hockey Federation and the Pakistan Sports Board. But when the players reached Canberra, the hotel management made it clear that "There is no booking and no payment has been received."

Head coach Tahir Zaman reportedly tried to contact higher authorities in Pakistan, but due to the time difference and lack of funds, no solution was found for hours. After the long journey, the players had neither a place to rest nor food and drink. Finally, after much struggle, the hotel provided limited rooms.Amidst this mental stress, the team had to take the field the next day and had to face a 2-3 defeat against Australia.

The Pakistani hockey team is going through a tough time right now. The team has lost all six matches in the Pro League so far.

Surprisingly, the team has gone on this tour without a permanent manager. Former Olympian Anjum Saeed was removed after a controversy over smoking on a flight and arguments with airport security. The team currently seems to be in administrative limbo.
