Amid a series of events indicating an internal crisis in the Pakistan cricket team, another report emerges, suggesting a scuffle between their star bowler Shaheen Afridi and the coaching staff.
Afridi, whose T20 World Cup campaign proved to be unfruitful for his side, is alleged to have misbehaved with the team’s head coach Gary Kirsten, and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood.
There were reports of Afridi’s problematic behaviour since Pakistan’s Ireland tour, a month before the T20 World Cup.
However, no action was taken against Afridi by the managers travelling with the team, the report alleged.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will now probe the issue, to find out why no action was taken against the player, added the report.
All the Pakistani players are reportedly under a strict scanner for lobbying and unserious behaviour in recent competitions, as alleged by the coaching staff.
PCB in light of their undesired early exit from the T20 World Cup, reportedly sacked former cricketers Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razaq from its selection committee.
