MS Dhoni to play in IPL 2026, CSK CEO confirms

Indian cricket legend and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) veteran Mahendra Singh Dhoni will play in the 2026 edition of the IPL, a confirmation made by CSK Chief Executive Officer Kasi Viswanathan.
The team management has now officially stated that Dhoni will be seen playing this season, bringing joy to millions of his fans.
In the previous IPL season, Dhoni had taken over the leadership of CSK after captain Ruturaj Gaikwad had to withdraw midway through the tournament due to injury, after which Dhoni was handed the captaincy.
However, the season proved disappointing for CSK. The team managed to win only four out of 14 matches and, for the first time in IPL history, finished at the bottom of the points table.
The former Indian captain has played 278 IPL matches so far and has scored 5,439 runs.
