Indian cueist Sourav Kothari clinched the 2025 IBSF World Billiards Championship title with an emphatic victory over multiple-time winner Pankaj Advani in the final held in Carlow, Ireland. 

Cue sports fans were treated to a historic all-Indian clash between two of the nation’s finest talents, battling it out for the coveted world title on Wednesday. The match not only lived up to expectations but also delivered one of the most memorable moments in recent championship history.

The 40-year-old Kothari emerged victorious with a commanding scoreline of 725 to Advani’s 480, cementing his status among the elite of the sport.

Kothari showcased remarkable composure, focus, and cue control throughout the match, registering outstanding breaks of 119 and 112. His massive 325-point break within the first half-hour set the tone, forcing Advani into a relentless chase for the rest of the match.
