Iran Football team refused to participate in FIFA world cup after US killed Supreme leader

The Iranian sports minister, Ahmad Donayamali, has now reportedly stated that Iran’s football team is not going to participate in the FIFA World Cup after the US killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The FIFA World Cup is going to be hosted by Canada, Mexico and co-host by the US. Following this, all the three group matches of Iran are scheduled in the US in which first two matches against New Zealand and Belgium are held in Los Angeles on 15 and 21 June respectively, and the last match against Egypt in Seattle on 26 June.
After February 28, US-Israel launched an airstrike in which Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei killed. Since then, there is a speculation of Iran not participating in the world cup. To which in an interview, Iran sports minister stated that the Iran football team is not going to participate in the FIFA World Cup.
As per reported, Donayamali in an interview reportedly said under no circumstances they are going to participate. He further said that their children are not safe in such conditions where the host nation killed their supreme leader.
