India wins the match in 30.3 overs by 7 wickets

An explosive innings from Rohit Sharma in a low-scoring game meant that India would arrive at a comfortable victory. Rohit Sharma’s 86 paired with Shreyas Iyer’s half century took India over the line. Earlier, Pakistan’s collapse of eight wickets in their last 36 runs restricted them to a meek score of 191.

Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, with all its reported 1,30,000+ spectators witnessed a famous, comfortable win for their home team, beating their arch rivals in a comprehensive manner to the crowd’s delight. 

This marks India’s third and the first loss for Pakistan in ICC Men’s World Cup 2023.

India eases past the 150-run mark. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma departs after a brilliant score of 86(63).

As the most awaited clash of the World Cup 2023 begin, India vs Pakistan toss saw India winning the coin flip, and choosing to field first. Shubman Gill, who missed out on the first two games of the tournament is back in Indian side after recovering from dengue. Ishan Kishan, the southpaw opener, made way for the Gill, with the latter most likely to open the innings for India with captain Rohit Sharma.
