Match officially called off, Pakistan makes it to Super Four
The match officials have called the game off after a long break. After India's 266, the second innings could not begin due to constant rain.
One point each will be distributed to India and Pakistan. However, since Pakistan won their first game against Nepal, they are through to the Super Four group.

The rain clouds seem to have been hovering over Pallekele for a long time. The slashing of overs saga has already come under play, and as per reports, the final cut-off time for a 20-over game is 10.27 p.m. IST, with the DLS method under play.

Showers at Kandy have played spoilsport once again as the covers come on. As per reports, the rainfall doesn't seem to be halting anytime soon.

The Indian side, with a deep batting line-up, manages a total of 266 in this Asia Cup tie against Pakistan. The headliners were Kishan and Hardik with their 138-run fifth wicket partnership. Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi bags four wickets, while Naseem and Haris get three wickets each.
Pakistan requires 267 runs in 50 overs at 5.34 runs per over.

India lose their sixth, seventh, and eight wickets in quick succession as Hardik Pandya walks to the pavilion after scoring a mighty 87 (90), Jadeja at 14 (22) and Shardul Tahkur at 3 (3). Shaheen gets the two 'premium' batters caught out, while Naseem gets his first wicket of the day by departing Shardul. India at 242-8.

A scorching fast bouncer from Haris Rauf was too much for Kishan to handle, whose brilliant knock of 82 (81) in a pressure situation came to an end after he was caught out. India at 204/5.

With the help of a steady partnership of 85(96) between Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan, India is now at 150/4, after an early scare.

Ishan Kishan scores a half century off 54 balls, playing his first match against Pakistan. Kishan's 50 has surely helped India, who lost their wickets earlier in the innings. Hardik Pandya is playing at 36 off 47 balls.

India stabilises the innings at the halfway mark after losing early wickets. After 25 overs, India's score 127-4, with Hardik Pandya at 30(34) and Ishan Kishan at 43(46).
20 overs bowled, India crosses 100
Not slowing down by the wickets falling frequently, India crossed 100-run mark as Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan rebuild the innings after being in a tricky situation. Hardik Pandya has scored 16 runs from 15 balls, while Ishan is at 32 from 35 balls.

India's troubles just got deeper as Haris Rauf gets tentative Shubman Gill at personal score of just 10. Gill never looked confident with his stay at the crease, eventually giving his wicket away to Rauf, the latter's second wicket for the innings.

As India was struggling at 51/3 in 11.2 overs, the rain came down once again, playing a spoilsport for Pakistan who were on a roll. The umpires discussed for a while and called for the covers, halting the play.

After 11 overs, India has now crossed the 50 run mark losing of 3 wickets in the process.

After Sharma and Kohli, India has lost Shreyas Iyer, who is making a comeback to the ODI side. For the time he was in, Iyer looked set, and played some assuring shots, before getting out to a short delivery from Rauf.
India stands at 48/3 at the end of 10 overs, with the last wicket being Shreyas Iyer 14(9).

The rain came down heavy during the fifth over, just as players were getting their eyes in. The covers are on, and the drizzle is still on.

India wins the toss, chose to bat
The rain gods were testing the patience of the fans, however, the toss was possible at the decided time. Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian Cricket Team, won the crucial toss, deciding to bat first. "We are going with three pacers, and two spinners, with Hardik Pandya also an option," he said at the toss.
Pakistan, on the other hand, is playing the same team they played against Nepal in their opening match for the Asia Cup.
