Gurindevir Singh has officially become India’s fastest man after completing the 100m sprint in just 10.20 seconds, breaking the previous national record of 10.23 seconds set by Manikanta Hoblidha in 2023. The historic feat took place at the Indian Grand Prix 1, 2025, held in Bengaluru.

The 24-year-old athlete from Punjab, competing for Reliance, surpassed all national records to claim the prestigious title. His achievement marks a significant milestone in Indian athletics, setting a new benchmark for sprinters in the country.

Meanwhile, Manikanta Hoblidha, the previous record holder, also improved his performance, completing the 100m sprint in 10.22 seconds, thus beating his own record. However, despite his personal best, he secured the second position in the event.

The Indian Grand Prix 1 is an annual athletics event organised by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI). It serves as an important platform for Indian athletes to compete at the highest level and achieve qualifying standards for international events such as the Olympics, Asian Games, and World Championships.
