Gautam Gambhir alleged of ‘favouritism’ after Ayush Badoni's ODI call-up

Ayush Badoni's inclusion in the Indian cricket team squad for the ODI series after Washington Sundar's injury against New Zealand has not gone well with a number of Indian cricket fans on social media.
BCCI announced Badoni as a replacement for Washington Sundar for the remaining two ODI matches, as Sundar was ruled out of the series due to injury. Fans flocked to social media and accused head coach Gautam Gambhir of favouritism in the selection of the Indian Cricket Team.
Fans react
A user named Jaswant Singh on X said that Sundar is a proper bowler who can bowl 10 overs, but Badoni is a middle batsman who can bowl a couple of overs only. He further added that there are plenty of middle-order batters who are smashing it in domestic cricket. But Opportunity went to Badoni. Reason?
Another username directly alleged that Ayush Badoni has been Gautam Gambhir’s blue-eyed boy since his LSG mentor days.
