Football World Cup 2026 final ticket prices surge to $10,990, complaints over FIFA pricing intensify

Ticket prices for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final have surged sharply, with top-category seats now costing $10,990 in the latest sales phase, as per reports. The revised pricing comes after sales reopened following the confirmation of the 48-team tournament lineup.
The steep hike has further fuelled an ongoing row over ticket affordability. Earlier, Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and Euroconsumers had filed a formal complaint with the European Commission, accusing FIFA of exploiting its monopoly and pushing prices beyond the reach of common fans.
FSE had pointed out that even the cheapest final tickets were initially priced at $4,185 significantly higher than previous editions while also criticising FIFA’s limited release of lower-priced tickets as a “gimmick”.
The groups have demanded price controls, an end to dynamic pricing, and greater transparency in ticket sales, warning that the current system unfairly burdens supporters.
The 2026 tournament, to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, will be featuring 48 teams and 104 matches.
