FIFA to partner with YouTube for the free streaming of FIFA World Cup 2026 matches

Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) confirms partnership with YouTube ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“This collaboration with YouTube consolidates FIFA’s strategy on preferred platforms and reinforces a commitment to protecting intellectual property. It will grow opportunities for Media Partners and increase promotion of the FIFA World Cup to the next generation of fans, while bringing creator perspectives to the forefront and enhancing user experience,” said FIFA in March, announcing the collaboration.
However, it will only be the first 10 minutes of every match, clarified the platforms. “For the first time in the competition’s history, Media Partners will have the option of live streaming the first 10 minutes of every match on their YouTube channel, enabling fans to experience the energy from the very first whistle,” it said.
Calling it a “game-changing partnership,” FIFA said the move will help expand global reach, create new monetization opportunities for broadcasters, and make World Cup content more accessible across devices, especially smartphones.
The full 90-minute broadcast will be available only to FIFA’s media partners, who may stream some of the matches for the whole duration, as per the statement.
Alongside expanding digital accessibility, FIFA is also focusing on engaging younger audiences through creators and social media while adapting to modern viewing habits, with the YouTube partnership expected to play a central role in the future of World Cup broadcasting.
