David Beckham says ‘let children make mistakes’ after Brooklyn’s statement against family

The long-simmering rift within the Beckham family has resurfaced after Brooklyn Beckham shared an extensive statement on social media outlining his grievances against his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.
According to reports, the 26-year-old, who is the eldest son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, publicly addressed the family dispute in a detailed post on Instagram earlier this week. He stated that he does not wish to reconcile at present and suggested that he was asserting himself independently for the first time.
While neither David nor Victoria has formally responded to the statement, reports say that David made a brief remark the following morning while speaking about social media usage at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he indicated that children are bound to make mistakes.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn reportedly elaborated on the alleged rift through a lengthy note shared on his Instagram Stories. As per reports, he claimed that his parents had repeatedly interfered in his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, even before their wedding. He reportedly alleged that disagreements around wedding arrangements, including the bridal outfit, created early tensions.
According to his statement, Brooklyn also claimed that, in the weeks leading up to the wedding, he was allegedly pressured to sign over rights connected to his name, which he believed could have impacted his future family. He further suggested that incidents during the wedding ceremony added to the strain, leaving him deeply uncomfortable.
The reported discord, as per Brooklyn’s account, continued well beyond the wedding. He claimed that he was later invited to attend his father’s milestone birthday celebrations only under certain conditions related to his wife’s presence.
Brooklyn reportedly concluded by alleging that his family prioritises public image, branding and social media visibility over personal relationships, suggesting that affection and support were often measured by public appearances and online engagement rather than private understanding.
The Beckham family has not officially commented on the allegations so far, and the situation continues to draw widespread public attention.
