BCCI's 125 cr prize money: Who gets how much?

Following India’s triumphant victory at the T20 World Cup 2024, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) announced a staggering prize money of ₹125 crore. The Board had earlier clarified that this prize money would be distributed among the players, support staff, and selectors.

A news media report classified the prize distribution, with each of the 15 players part of the T20 World Cup squad, along with head coach Rahul Dravid, receiving the highest share of ₹5 crore each.

Reserve players, which include Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, and Shubman Gill, are also said to receive ₹ 1 crore each.

The report further states that apart from the players, ₹2.5 crore each will be distributed among the team’s core coaching staff, comprising batting coach Vikram Rathour, fielding coach T Dilip, and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey.

A reward of ₹1 crore each will be given to the five selectors on the selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar.

Other backroom staff members have also been included in this prize money distribution. BCCI’s three physiotherapists, Kamlesh Jain, Yogesh Parmar, and Tulsi Ram Yuvraj; three throwdown specialists, Raghavendra Dwivedi, Nuwan Udeneke, and Dayanand Garani; two masseurs, Rajeev Kumar and Arun Kanade; and the strength and conditioning coach, Soham Desai, will receive ₹2 crore each.

Additionally, the team’s video analyst, BCCI staff members who travelled with the team, including media officers, and the team’s logistics manager will also be rewarded.
