In the ongoing second ODI between Australia and Bangladesh, Aussies suffered an unprecedented collapse, losing their first three wickets without scoring a run for the first time in ODI history. Matthew Short was dismissed for a four-ball duck, while Cooper Connolly was bowled off the very first ball he faced. Matt Renshaw then departed for a five-ball duck, leaving Australia zero runs for three wickets in two overs.

In the second ODI at Mirpur, Australia won the toss and opted to bat first against Bangladesh. However, Aussie suffered a collapse, losing their top three batters without scoring a single run in the opening two overs which make the first such occurrence in Australia's 55-year men's ODI history.

Taskin Ahmed struck on the fourth ball of the opening over, dismissing Matthew Short for a four-ball duck. In the following over, Mustafizur Rahman took Connolly for a golden duck on the very first ball of the over, before dismissing Renshaw on the final ball of the over after he had scored no runs from four deliveries which made Australia’s score 0/3 at the end of the second over.

Currently the match was halted due to the rain, as of the 42nd over, Australia were 187/8, with Marnus Labuschagne unbeaten on 55 runs.

Bangladesh is leading the series with 1-0 as they beat Australia by 86 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method in the opening ODI in Dhaka on Tuesday, securing their first 50-over victory over the six-time world champions since the famous Cardiff triumph in 2005.
