Asian Games 2026 Day 11: Neeru Dhanda Ends India’s Individual Shooting Gold Drought, Gulveer Singh Wins Record 3rd Medal

India enjoyed a memorable Day 11 at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, with Neeru Dhanda winning gold in women’s individual trap shooting to end India’s wait for an individual shooting gold at the Games. Gulveer Singh also secured his third medal of the competition, while India booked two boxing finals through Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal.

India’s women’s trap team also won silver, while boxer Narender Berwal secured bronze after losing his +90kg semi-final. Several Indian athletes progressed across archery, squash, canoe slalom and tennis.

Neeru Dhanda Wins Gold In Individual Trap Shooting

Neeru Dhanda clinched India’s fifth gold medal of the 2026 Asian Games with a sensational performance in rainy conditions on the shotgun range.

Her victory also ended India’s wait for an individual shooting gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.

India had earlier won silver in the women’s team trap event, with Dhanda also qualifying for the individual final.

Shapath Bharadwaj qualified for the men’s individual trap final but finished without a medal. India’s men’s trap team also missed out on a team podium.

Two Indian Boxers Qualify For Finals

India secured two more assured silver medals in boxing after Parveen Hooda and Ankush Panghal won their respective semi-final bouts.

Parveen booked her place in the women’s 65kg final, while Ankush qualified for the men’s 80kg final.

Narender Berwal, however, lost his men’s +90kg semi-final against world champion Aibek Oralbay. He finished with a bronze medal.

Gulveer Singh Claims Record 3rd Medal

Gulveer Singh added another medal to his Asian Games campaign, taking his tally to three medals.

The athletics programme also featured Avinash Sable, Gurindervir Singh, Animesh Kujur and Harita Bhadra, with India looking to add more medals on the final day of athletics.

India Make Progress In Archery

Dhiraj Bommadevara began his men’s recurve individual campaign with a 6-0 win over the Philippines’ Girvin Garcia in the Round of 32.

He then defeated Chinese Taipei’s Cheng Hsiang-Hui 6-2 in the Round of 16.

Neeraj Chauhan also advanced after beating Indonesia’s Riau Ega Agata Salsabilla 6-4 before defeating South Korea’s Kim Je-deok by the same score in the Round of 16.

India Beat Iran In Women’s Team Squash

India defeated Iran 2-0 in their Pool C women’s team squash match.

Tanvi Khanna and Anahat Singh secured the victories for India.

Tennis Results

Dhakshineswar Suresh defeated Gunawan Trismuwantara 7-5, 7-6 in the men’s singles second round.

Sumit Nagal also progressed after beating South Korea’s Seongchan Hong 6-4, 6-0.

Canoe Slalom: Indian Paddlers Reach Semi-Finals

Shikha Chouhan finished 11th in the women’s kayak single heats and advanced to the semi-finals.

In the men’s kayak single, Hitesh Kewat and Pradhyumna Singh Rathod finished eighth and 10th respectively to progress.

Pallavi Jagtap and Rina Sen also reached the women’s canoe single semi-finals after finishing seventh and ninth respectively.

Cycling Results

In the men’s team sprint qualification, Rojit Singh, David Beckham and Ronaldo Singh finished seventh among eight teams with a time of 44.895 seconds. They will face second-seeded China in the first round.

In the women’s team sprint, Celestina, Sarita Kumari and Keerthi Rangaswamy Chikka finished sixth in 50.414 seconds and will face Chinese Taipei.

The women’s team pursuit quartet of Harshita Jakhar, Pooja Danole, Meenakshi and Swosti Singh finished fifth and qualified for the head-to-head heats.

Surfing And Kurash Results

India’s Kishore Kumar Anbarasu was knocked out of the men’s shortboard competition after losing to the Philippines’ Toby Espejon 5.37-8.53 in the quarter-final.

In kurash, Vipin Kumar lost 0-3 to South Korea’s Hoon Hyeon-su in the men’s 66kg Round of 16.
