Indian cricket team’s star finisher Rinku Singh has been struck by tragic news during the ongoing T20 World Cup. While Rinku has been representing the country on the field, his family has been dealing with a devastating loss. His father, Khanchand Singh, passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Khanchand Singh had been fighting fourth-stage liver cancer for some time. As his condition deteriorated, he was admitted to Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida. He was placed on mechanical ventilator support and was undergoing kidney replacement therapy. Despite continuous medical efforts, doctors were unable to save him.

The period has been emotionally challenging for Rinku. After India’s defeat against South Africa, when the team reached Chennai, Rinku was informed about his father’s critical condition. He immediately left the squad to be by his father’s side. However, ahead of the crucial match against Zimbabwe, he rejoined the team, though he did not feature in the playing XI.

India went on to win the match on February 26, but for Rinku, the joy of victory has been overshadowed by the grief of losing his father.
