Who is Abidur Chowdhury, the Apple designer behind iPhone Air?

Apple unveiled its thinnest smartphone yet, the iPhone Air, at its highly anticipated annual event on September 9. The device features a titanium body with Ceramic Shield protection on both sides, combining durability with a lightweight build.
The launch presentation was led by Abidur Chowdhury, an industrial designer at Apple. While introducing the iPhone Air, he described it as the company’s slimmest iPhone to date, blending a sleek form factor with the performance of its Pro lineup, something he suggested users would truly appreciate only when holding it in their hands.
Chowdhury, who was born and raised in London, is currently based in San Francisco, where he works at Apple’s design studio. His personal website highlights his gratitude for being able to contribute to multiple high-profile projects over the course of his career.
Chowdhury of Bangladeshi origin,according to various reports, began his professional journey as a freelancer in London before moving to California. He joined Apple in January 2019 and has since been part of the company’s industrial design team for nearly seven years.
