Information Technology minister Ashwini Vaishnaw reportedly announced new developments in the 6G alliance on July 3. This alliance is expected to thrive with the development of telecom technology and 6G in India. The Indian digital economy is likely to reach $1 trillion by 2025, according to reports.

India set to launch next-gen technology

India is preparing for the timely launch of next-generation technology and efforts to export it. The 6G alliance is a coalition of public, private, and other sectors, with the support of national research institutes and science organisations.

Earlier this year, 6G test bands were announced. Test bands are basically trials before the launch of any technology.

5G yet to fully roll out

When the country is preparing for the launch of 6G technology, the 5G network has not fully transpired across the country. Many companies have launched 5G, but many Indians have still not been reached, and are still using 4G networks.

The central government targets to launch 6G by 2030 to keep up with other countries. South Korea was the first country to announce a 6G network.
