Bengaluru man develops AI-equipped helmet to scan traffic violaters

Bengaluru-based software engineer Pankaj Tanwar claimed that he was approached by Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru, after he transformed an ordinary helmet into an AI-based scanning tool.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Tanwar is an engineer by profession, and has designed a smart helmet that can identify traffic violations in real time, offering a technology driven approach to improve traffic discipline.

The helmet is equipped with a camera that captures the visuals of traffic violations along with the details such as location and vehicle number plate. The recorded data can be directly shared with the traffic police.

The innovation aims to support the authorities for tracking traffic rules violations. Tanwar highlights how simple technology can enhance traffic and public safety.

​The idea was posted by himself in his LinkedIn saying, ‘“I was tired of stupid people on road so I hacked my helmet into a  ”

“While I ride, AI agent runs in near real time, flags violations, and proof with location & no plate goes straight to police,” he wrote, sharing images of his helmet.

“blr people - so now ride safe… or regret it,” he warned the violaters.
