After Molotov attack, shots fired at Sam Altman’s home, two arrested

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s home has been targeted again, just two days after a Molotov cocktail attack. Two men were arrested with a suspected firearm discharge on Sunday in San Francisco’s affluent Russian Hill neighbourhood, as per the local police department.
A car reportedly slowed outside Altman’s San Francisco property, which spans a stretch between Chestnut and Lombard streets. The vehicle had passed the residence moments earlier before returning too.
As per reports, one of the two suspects reportedly fired a single shot from a suspected firearm by extending their arm out of the window while driving through at 2:56 AM (EST).
CCTV reportedly captured the moment as the security personnel stationed at the residence reported hearing a gunshot.
The vehicle fled swiftly, with no record of the license plate.
So far, no injuries were reported.
The police arrested two suspects, Amanda Tom (25) and Muhamad Tarik Hussein (23), who have been taken into custody and booked on charges related to negligent discharge.
The suspect, Daniel Alejandro Moreno-Gama, responsible for the Molotov attack on Friday, will face charges of attempted murder and arson.
He was taken into custody shortly after the incident, following reports of suspicious activities like threats made near OpenAI’s offices.
On Friday, Altan expressed his concerns and justified his anxiety. He stated that ‘words have power’, and claimed that threats were made just a day before the Molotov incident, but he brushed it aside.
He also shared a picture of his husband, Oliver Mulherin, and their infant child and said, ‘ Images have power, I hope. Normally we try to be pretty private, but in this case I am sharing a photo in the hopes that it might dissuade the next person from throwing a Molotov cocktail at our house, no matter what they think about me.’
