Rajkot Rural Scam: 10 Arrested as Police Uncover Three Call Centres Selling Sex-Stamina Medicines, Blackmailing Victims

Police in Bhayavadar, Rajkot Rural, have uncovered an alleged online medicine scam in which customers were lured into buying products marketed for sexual stamina and then threatened if they tried to cancel their orders. Three locations were raided on October 22, leading to the arrest of 10 people and the seizure of electronic equipment worth ₹5.16 lakh. Police are still looking for five other suspects.

Investigators suspect the operation used misleading online promotions and intimidation to make money. The accused allegedly presented themselves as medical professionals, advertised Ayurvedic products through a website and used threats involving customers' families to pressure them after orders were cancelled.

Police Raids Three Premises in Bhayavadar

The operation followed a tip-off that led police teams to premises in Umiyanagar, Cinema Road and Matva Sheri. One location was an office belonging to Khodidas Makadiya, another was an office linked to Ahmedraza Multani, while the third was associated with Hardik Khambhala's residence.

Police allege that the operators ran their activities using computers, laptops, mobile phones and internet connections. Their online promotions included products advertised for sexual stamina and vitamin B12-related products, including one called Neuro Shakti Plus.

The website bedroomboss9(dot)in/Gujarat/ was allegedly used to attract buyers. Investigators say the operators posed as doctors and sent obscene material to persuade people to purchase the medicines.

Customers Allegedly Threatened Over Cancelled Orders

Police suspect the alleged fraud went beyond misleading product claims. When customers tried to withdraw from orders they had confirmed, the operators allegedly contacted them through WhatsApp and threatened to expose personal information to their families.

The threats reportedly included warnings of imprisonment. Investigators suspect the pressure was intended to extract money from customers who no longer wanted the products.

The exact number of people affected and the amount allegedly collected through the scheme have not yet been established.

Website Used Logos and Testimonials to Build Trust

Investigators found that the website allegedly displayed logos associated with the Ministry of AYUSH and the National Health Authority's Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). Police suspect these were used to give the products an appearance of official backing.

The site also reportedly carried newspaper clippings believed to be fabricated, along with logos of private organisations. Discounts of around 50 per cent were offered, while photographs and testimonials attributed to customers claimed the medicines had produced positive results.

Some testimonials were presented as coming from people in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai. Police are examining whether these claims and promotional materials were used to mislead potential buyers.

Seized Equipment Valued at ₹5.16 Lakh

The three raids yielded 18 computers and laptops, 33 keyboards and mice, 23 mobile phones, three broadband devices and three electricity bills. Police assessed the total value of the seized property at ₹5,16,700.

The electronic devices may help investigators establish how the alleged operation functioned and identify further people connected to it.

Five Suspects Still Missing

Those arrested are Khodidas Makadiya, Kaushik Vala, Meet Bedwa, Chetan Rathod, Ahmedraza Multani, Rajesh Parmar, Manveer Khambhala, Ahmedraza alias Bapu Kadri, Nashir Lakha and Jeel Khaniya.

Police are searching for Hardik Khambhala, Jaydeep Gohil, Rahul, Faizal Razakbhai and Nishant alias Neel Bhatt.

The case has been registered at Bhayavadar police station under Sections 318(4), 319(2), 308(2), 351(4) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act and the Gujarat Medical Practitioners Act.
