Panchmahal Police Invoke GUJCTOC Against 6-Member Gang Over Cow Smuggling, Murder Cases

The Panchmahal Local Crime Branch (LCB) has registered a case under the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime Act (GujCTOC) Act against six alleged members of a gang accused of involvement in serious crimes, including cow smuggling and murder, in Godhra and surrounding areas.

Gang’s Criminal History Under Scanner

According to police, the gang had been active in Godhra and nearby areas for a considerable period and was allegedly involved in illegal cow smuggling, murder and other anti-social activities.

During its investigation, the Panchmahal police examined the alleged criminal history of the gang members and their modus operandi, officials said.

One Accused Arrested

Following registration of the case under the GCTOC Act, police launched raids to trace the accused.

One of the alleged gang members, identified as Anas Badam, has been arrested, while efforts are under way to locate the remaining five accused.

Separate police teams have been formed to intensify the search for the other suspects.

Police Action Sparks Stir Among Criminals

The action by the Panchmahal LCB is being viewed as a major crackdown on alleged organised criminal activity in the district.

Police said further investigation is under way into the gang's activities and the cases linked to its members.
