Who is Bhadresh Patel in FBI’s top 10 most wanted fugitive list?

Gujarat-origin Bhadreshkumar Patel has been named on the list of the US law enforcement agency’s top ten most wanted fugitives.

The 26-year-old, who is originally from Ahmedabad’s Viramgam, has ended up with a reward of up to $2,50,000 (₹2.09 cr) on his head in the US for committing serious crimes.

Patel is wanted for allegedly killing his wife, with whom he worked at a doughnut shop in Hanover, Maryland, by striking her multiple times with an object while they were working at a doughnut shop in Hanover, Maryland, on Apr 12, 2015, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). 

He has been on the run and on the FBI’s fugitive list since 2017.

A local arrest warrant was issued in the District Court of Maryland for Anne Arundel County on Apr 13, 2015, and he was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

A federal arrest warrant was issued in the United States District Court, District of Maryland, Baltimore, Maryland, on Apr 20, 2015, after Patel was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

According to the official FBI website, Patel was last known to be in Newark, New Jersey.
