Who is Anjali Sud? Indian-origin CEO to replace Canada PM Mark Carney in Harvard Board

Indian-origin CEO of a streaming platform, Anjali Sud, has been elected to Harvard University’s Board of Overseers. As per reports, she is going to fill the vacancy left by Canada PM Mark Carney.
Carney stepped down from Harvard Board on March 9 after being elected the leader of the Liberal Party in Canada.
The ongoing election comes amid Harvard University’s rift with the Donald Trump administration.
Sanjay Seth, another Indian-origin, has been elected as one of six new directors on the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) board.
Who is Anjali Sud?
Anjali Sud is an influential technology and media executive who has served since 2023 as CEO of Tubi, a free TV and movie streaming service with nearly 100 million monthly active users.
According to Harvard’s website, Sud previously served as CEO of Vimeo, where she led a major expansion of the video-hosting platform to become the leading developer of tools for video creators worldwide.
Sud chairs the board of ‘Change.org’ and serves on the board of Dolby Laboratories. She also sits on the executive committee of the development board at Phillips Academy Andover, where she is involved with financial aid initiatives.
“My parents came to this country to give me a shot at the American Dream. I achieved that dream through the power of a transformative education, and I want to pay it forward to the next generation. Harvard has both the opportunity and imperative to define the future of higher education at a time of existential change. I would be honoured to help Harvard navigate that change and enable creative transformation,” she said.
