US woman barred by airline after racist remarks against Indian family
An Indian-American photographer Pervez Taufiq shared a horrific experience he faced on an airport transfer bus where an American lady hurled racist slurs on his family.
The man was with his family on a transfer bus from United Airlines. “Mortified, we just went through this. This lady was harassing our son on the flight, unbeknownst to us, asking him if he was Indian and making comments. When we landed in LA and got on the transfer bus, she told our son to ‘shut up’,” he shared on social media.
When he told her that she couldn’t talk to his children rudely, she started hurling racist slurs saying, “Your family is from India, you have no respect for the rules, you think you can push everyone... That’s what you think you are. You guys are crazy, you stink.”
Following the incident, United Airlines placed the woman on a ‘no-fly list’ after the incident.
According to the video, the woman’s assault and insults continued and she grew aggressive while Taufiq was continuing to film her. She also made obscene gestures towards the family.
Later, Taufiq shared on his social media, “The remainder of this is what happened. I’m thankful United @united got her off the bus ultimately and a few fellow passengers stood up for us.”
