The US is strictening its stance on foreign nationals who repeatedly violate its laws, with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) warning that repeat offenders will face arrest and deportation.
ICE, which enforces immigration laws within the US, stated it will prioritise the removal of individuals posing threats to public safety due to repeated criminal activities. The agency noted that local arrests followed by quick releases often allow offenders to continue breaking laws, making federal intervention necessary.
In the latest case, ICE Seattle announced the arrest of Manjot Singh, 25, an Indian national with an extensive criminal history, during a joint operation with multiple US authorities. Singh has been arrested at least six times by local police for charges including robbery, theft, criminal impersonation, and DUI, repeatedly evading long-term consequences under local procedures. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
ICE emphasised that foreign nationals who continue to break US laws will face strict action, with deportation being a clear consequence for repeat offenders to protect public safety.
