US aims revoking citizenship of 300 foreign born Americans in immigration crackdown

The US Justice Department is reportedly pursuing action against at least 300 foreign-born American citizens, with the possibility of revoking their citizenship as part of a broader immigration enforcement drive, according to a NBC report.
The move is reportedly linked to the administration’s wider effort to tighten immigration policies and act against individuals accused of misusing the naturalisation process.
According to reports, the officials have directed legal teams to prioritise denaturalisation cases, particularly those involving national security concerns, serious crimes, or fraud against government programmes such as Medicaid and Medicare.
A Justice Department spokesperson reportedly said that the agency is intensifying efforts to identify and prosecute such cases, describing the initiative as a major crackdown on fraud within the immigration system.
The Department of Homeland Security, through US Citizenship and Immigration Services, has reportedly reassigned personnel and deployed specialists nationwide to identify potential cases. The aim is to refer between 100 and 200 cases per month to the Justice Department for legal action.
