Two Indians killed, 10 injured in attack in Oman’s Sohar city: reports

Two Indian nationals were reportedly killed and 10 others injured in an attack in Sohar city in Oman, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday.
Aseem R Mahajan, Additional Secretary (Gulf) in the MEA, reportedly said a total of 11 people were injured in the attack, including 10 Indian nationals.
Five of the injured have already been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment, while the remaining five are currently undergoing treatment at local hospitals, he said, adding that none of them is reported to have sustained serious injuries.
“I wish to share with all of you an incident that happened in Sohar City today. There was an attack, and in this incident, two Indian nationals died. We express our deepest condolences to their families,” Mahajan said.
He added that the Indian mission was in close contact with the company concerned as well as the local authorities and was extending all possible assistance to the affected Indian nationals.
According to the MEA, Indian authorities are in touch with officials in Oman and are closely monitoring the situation while providing support to those impacted by the incident.
