Trump endorses Vivek Ramaswamy for Ohio Governor, calls him ‘Young, Strong and Smart’

US President Donald Trump has formally endorsed Indian-origin entrepreneur and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy in the Ohio Governor’s race.

In a post on his platform Truth Social, Trump said he knows Vivek well from the 2024 primary race and described him as “Young, Strong and Smart” as well as “something special”.

Trump wrote, “Vivek Ramaswamy is running for Governor of the Great State of Ohio, a place I love and WON BIG, three times, in 2016, 2020 and 2024! … He is a very good person who truly loves our country.”

Trump said Ramaswamy would focus on growing the economy, cutting taxes, pushing ‘Made in USA’, strengthening border security, cracking down on migrant crime, and protecting the Second Amendment. He added that Vivek would “never let you down”.

Ramaswamy, who ran a high-profile America First campaign in the 2024 Republican presidential primaries before eventually backing Trump, is now one of the most prominent Indian-origin names in US conservative politics.

Trump also wrote that,  “Vivek Ramaswamy will be a GREAT Governor of Ohio, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement.”
