A video showing a tense exchange between a Texas-based whistleblower and an Indian H-1B visa holder has gained significant traction on social media. In the clip, Sara Gonzales alleges she uncovered an H-1B scam, claiming the individual was unlawfully running a food truck while holding a specialised work visa.
Gonzales shared footage of herself approaching the Golconda Xpress Indian Food Truck and confronting Naveen Tummala. She alleged that although his H-1B visa is sponsored by Flexera Global Inc., he presents himself as the owner of the food truck, which she claims violates visa rules.
In response, Tummala acknowledged he is on an H-1B visa but denied owning or working at the food truck. He stated that the business belongs to his wife and explained that he occasionally assists her with technical matters. Gonzales, however, insisted he was being dishonest and claimed to have evidence that he is actively involved in the business.
Tummala clarified that while he is a trained chef and familiar with the recipes, he does not work at the truck. He also questioned the accusations, saying he was not being paid and was aware of the legal boundaries of his visa. When asked about his wife’s absence, he pointed out that business owners are not always physically present at their establishments.
As the confrontation escalated, Tummala asked Gonzales to leave and demanded an apology. During the exchange, Gonzales also made a remark suggesting she could not understand his English, which further intensified the situation.
The video has sparked mixed reactions online. While some users supported Gonzales’ actions, many others criticised the confrontation as unnecessary and confrontational.
An individual wrote, “So, let me get this STRAIT sorry straight: creating a business is a ‘threat’ to American jobs? So in this dimension of logic, investing capital, paying taxes, and creating jobs for Americans is a devious plot to take work away from the Americans? And why is this dude even entertaining a stranger who seems to have spent their free time stalking him and harvesting his data? Before anyone jumps on me, I’m not interested in America or defending anyone. But the irony is that a country that prides itself on ‘liberating’ other nations’ by illegally taking away their oil and resources bombing them is worried about the sanctity of a visa. Logic has officially left the room.”
Another wrote “Total mischaracterization. He was just helping. Taking orders is a mistake!?!? There is no way it can be paid stupid!?!? How would tax filing be done!?!? Such a dishonest reporting to gain attention. Shameful.”
Another said "So you’re going after people doing good in the community?
Why don’t you go after meth dealers and coke dealers??????"
Where another wrote “This is pathetic. There’s no law that says an h1b cannot own a business like a food truck. They’re allowed to own, a business, invest and receive profits. Working in the business isn’t automatically illegal, depending on how it is structured which you didn’t prove.”
