How to study in US? Indian Embassy, UGC, MoE launch MARG for Indian aspirants

Indian students aspiring for higher studies in the US will now get assistance from the Embassy of India in Washington DC.

In coordination with the Ministry of Education of India, and the University Grants Commission (UGC) a unique virtual mentoring series ‘MARG’ - Mentoring for Academic Excellence and Research Guidance will connect Indian and Indian-origin faculty at renowned US universities, and students and researchers from Indian Universities.

The initiative aims to connect students from smaller cities & towns of India with the top US universities such as Stanford, Purdue, University of Maryland, George Mason University etc, as per the official release.

During the inaugural session of the first round of the series on October 8, Deputy Chief of Mission Ambassador Sripriya Ranganathan highlighted the expanding academic, research, skilling and industrial ecosystem in India in the areas of critical and emerging technology including Semiconductors, AI & ML, High-Performance Computing, Quantum Science & Technology, Bioengineering, Clean Energy, Advanced Materials etc.

According to her, these sectors are also deepening the academic-research-technology partnership between India and the US, driven by the leadership of both countries. 

Vice-chancellors and directors of participating Indian Universities expressed the belief that these sessions would benefit the students as well as faculty involved in teaching, skilling and research in these areas of critical and emerging technology.
