The Singapore President’s office invited seven Indian-origin workers who saved a woman from a sinkhole in Tanjong Katong in Singapore.
As per reports, the workers will attend the Istana Open House on Sunday, along with other guests, as per Channel News Asia.
According to a Singaporean daily, the seven workers, including Pitchai Udaiyappan Subbiah, Sathapillai Rajendran, Anbazhagan Velmurugan, Poomalai Saravanan, Ganesan Veerasekar, Bose Ajithkumar and Arumugam Chandirasekaran, each received a coin from the Ministry of Manpower’s Assurance, Care and Engagement (ACE) Group after they rescued a woman from a sinkhole in Tanjong Katong Road South on July 26.
The incident took place when a section of Tanjong Katong Road South collapsed at around 5.50 pm on July 26 and caused two lanes of the road to cave in, just adjacent to a PUB worksite.
As per the daily, a woman driving a black car fell into the sinkhole when the ground unexpectedly collapsed beneath the vehicle.
