Relieved after US visa issued? Be alert, screening still continues

The US Embassy in India issued a notice on Saturday stating that receiving a US visa does not mean your visa screening ends. Visa holders are continuously evaluated and monitored everywhere.
The embassy stated that it continuously checks visa holders to ensure they follow all US laws and immigration rules, and will revoke visas and deport individuals if they do not comply.
Earlier, the US had issued new guidelines for visa screening, requiring applicants to list all social media usernames or handles of every platform they have used in the last five years on the DS-160 visa application form.
“Applicants certify that the information in their visa application is true and correct before they sign and submit. Omitting social media information could lead to visa denial and ineligibility for future visas,” the embassy added.
Additionally, new applicants will now be required to make their social media accounts public for ‘enhanced vetting’ by the US government.
