An Indian traveller criticised the city of lights – Paris for his bad experiences with pickpocketers and   issues with cleanliness of the city during a family trip.

Pranav Vashishtha, an entrepreneur, recently took to social media to share his disappointing experience during a family trip to Paris.

In the video, Vashishtha called it the ‘worst day’ of his trip. He explained that while visiting the Eiffel Tower early in the morning to avoid crowds, he had a disturbing encounter with pickpockets. “We thought we’d get less crowd and it would be peaceful, but that’s when an incident occurred. Some girls who were pickpockets were roaming around, and an old French man pointed it out,” he said.

According to Vashishtha, the old man began shouting at the girls, but they reacted aggressively. “They ran towards him, spat on his face, and fled. They were quite close to us, and they had a knife and a sharp pen, maybe to cut bags and steal things. It was pretty scary,” he recalled. He emphasized how fortunate they were to avoid getting pickpocketed or injured.

Despite the unpleasant experience in the city, Vashishtha shared that his trip improved once he headed to the countryside. “We came back to the hotel and decided to go to the countryside. We had lunch and moved out. The countryside is still pretty nice with great views and a good hotel near the airport,” he mentioned.

However, his overall experience in Paris was overshadowed by several negative events. “A lot of bad things happened. There was garbage all around, pickpocketing, and we even got mugged by a taxi driver who charged us twice. The driver showed a failed transaction, but we were charged twice. So yes, Paris has been pretty sad,” he concluded.
