Missing Indian-origin Sydney teenager Aanisha Sathik found starving after 7 days
Indian-origin teenager Aanisha Saathik, an 18-year-old university student, was reported missing in Western Sydney on June 23, 2025.
She was found safe on July 1 after a multi-agency search. As per local news reports, she was found in Berala, nearly 3 km away from where she was reported missing and later taken to the hospital for assessment.
Aanisha was spotted on CCTV footage, wandering aimlessly about 3 km away in the neighbouring suburb, the police told local media.
She was rushed to the hospital to be assessed as she had “no money on her and probably went without eating anything for seven days”.
As per reports, Aanisha has been dealing with anxiety and depression.
According to Superintendent Robert Toynton, Commander of the Auburn Police Area Command, Aanisha may have gone without food for the past seven days and without a phone.
