Kerala expat dies of cardiac arrest after badminton session in UAE

A 43-year-old Indian expatriate from Kerala died after suffering a cardiac arrest shortly after a routine badminton session in Ajman, UAE, as per reports. The incident comes just days after another Indian expat lost his life while playing cricket in Dubai.
Anwar Sadiq, who had been living in the UAE for nearly 15 years, was reportedly playing badminton with friends on the night of June 17. During the game, he complained of pain in his left arm and stepped off the court to rest. According to his family, his blood pressure appeared normal at the time. After resting for a while and drinking a lemon soda, Anwar decided to return home.
However, before he could leave, he reportedly collapsed inside his car in the parking area. His friends immediately rushed to help, called emergency services, and performed first aid until an ambulance arrived. Despite their efforts, doctors were unable to revive him. His death was later confirmed as a cardiac arrest.
Anwar worked as a procurement manager at a Sharjah-based company and lived in Ajman with his wife and two school-going children, as per reports..
His death follows another recent incident in which 38-year-old Indian expatriate Safwan Shanu collapsed and died of a heart attack while playing cricket in Dubai.
