Indian nationals in the United States, including international students, green card holders, and H-1B visa holders, have been advised to avoid travelling outside the country due to increasing visa processing challenges and heightened airport security, as per reports.

While India is not reportedly on the US travel ban list, immigration experts have highlighted multiple concerns, including delays in visa stamping, stricter eligibility rules for interview waivers, and instances of travelers facing detainment at US airports. These factors have reportedly made re-entering the US more uncertain for non-immigrant visa holders.

Immigration attorneys have also pointed out that increased scrutiny at US airports has led to some travelers being subjected to extensive questioning or, in some cases, detainment, as per reports.

While specific reasons for these actions remain unclear, it has raised concerns about the risks of leaving and re-entering the country.

Given the uncertain processing timelines and stricter regulations, those needing visa renewals are being advised to carefully assess the risks before making international travel plans.

Employers are also reportedly being encouraged to explore contingency options, such as allowing remote work in case of unexpected delays in visa approvals
