An Indian machine learning scientist has developed a groundbreaking solution to navigate the complexities of the US visa system.
Priyanka Kulkarni, 34, who spent nine years living on a visa herself, has launched Casium, a startup that leverages artificial intelligence to streamline employment-based immigration for both applicants and employers.
According to a Business Insider report, Casium replaces outdated Excel sheets and reduces reliance on costly legal firms by offering a digital portal where employers can manage visa cases end-to-end.
The platform is built to adapt swiftly to policy shifts, such as the Trump-era executive order that imposed a hefty $1,00,000 fee for every new H-1B visa application—a move that sparked legal challenges from business groups and the US Chamber of Commerce.
The startup has already assisted hundreds of users with assessments, compliance reviews, and filings—boasting a high approval rate.
Founded in 2024, Casium recently secured $5 million in seed funding led by Maverick Ventures, with backing from AI2 Incubator, GTMfund, Success Venture Partners, and angel investor Jake Heller, whose company Casetext was acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2023.
