A viral video on X captured an unidentified man blaming Indians for the population surge in Canada and directing racist slurs at them.

The man in the video records some youngsters who appear to be Indians. While recording, the man says, “Alright, the refugees are here from India. This is Justin Trudeau’s reign. So many Indians.” 

“Most of them are from India. Thanks to Justin Trudeau,” he sarcastically says.

The group of students being recorded by the man were ignoring and often seen smiling at the man.

Text accompanying the video reads, “Where are the white people in Canada?”

In the video, the man said, “In 1998 the population was like 24 million. Now there are 44 million people in Canada, and most of them are from India”. He ended his remarks with, “Thanks to the Justin Trudeau government”.

A user commented, “No need for blatant racism. These people are trying to find a better life. They need to understand however that their Temporary Work Visas and Study Visas have an expiration date at which time they must leave. They agreed to do so upon receiving their visa. What changed?”

Giving a reality check to the man who was recording, a user commented, “Immigration and refugees are two different things. English came as refugees. Europeans came as refugees. Syrians, Iranian Ukrainians came as refugees. Indians come by legal means and not as refugees.”

The X post witnessed various racist comments like, “I hate Indians”, and “These are shameless people. They have no opportunities in their own country. Still, they are proud of it.” “Indian pandemic”.
