Indian students at Harvard protest Pakistani delegates’ visit following Pahalgam terror attack

Following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 28 innocent people, Indian students at Harvard University have strongly opposed the decision to invite Pakistani delegates to campus. Students expressed that the timing of the visit was highly inappropriate in light of the tragic incident.
In response to the backlash, Harvard reportedly removed all posters and social media posts related to the event in an apparent attempt to distance itself from the controversy.
According to reports, two Indian students at Harvard, Surabhi Tomar and Abhishek Chaudhari, have written a letter to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, urging the revocation of visas for all Pakistani officials traveling to the United States for the conference.
“Welcoming representatives of a government that enables or justifies terrorism risks Harvard being complicit,” the students reportedly wrote.
Their letter also called on the State Department to take a firm stance against Hinduphobia and requested clarity from US authorities on the matter.
In an interview with a news agency, the student stated that the attack was religiously motivated and not a random act of violence.
They emphasised the need for this to be addressed and urged both Harvard University and the US State Department to take action against the Pakistanis by revoking their visas.
