Indian student from Haryana stabbed to death in UK, family seeks govt intervention

Indian student Vijay Kumar, a 24-year-old resident of Jagrambas village in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, was stabbed to death in Worcester, United Kingdom. He was found critically injured on Barbourne Road and later succumbed to his wounds. Vijay had recently left a government job in India to pursue higher studies at UWE Bristol.

The incident has sparked shock and grief in his hometown, where the family is urging swift diplomatic assistance and the immediate repatriation of his body to India. They have also demanded a transparent and time-bound investigation into the killing.

Haryana MLA Sunil Satpal Sangwan expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and appealed to senior authorities, including the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of External Affairs, and the Haryana government, to intervene urgently.

In a post on X, the MLA urged officials to ensure all possible support to the family, especially the prompt return of Vijay’s mortal remains. He further called for a fair probe so that those responsible are held accountable.

Sangwan extended his condolences to the bereaved family, stating that the community stands firmly with them in this moment of grief.
