An Indian student in the US died in a car crash and two others were injured in Memphis, Tennessee on Friday.

According to reports, the victim, Naga Sri Vandana Parimala, a 26-year-old student, was involved in an accident when the car she was traveling in, along with two others, Pavan and Nikith, collided with another vehicle late in the night.

After the crash, Parimala was reportedly rushed to the hospital, but she was declared dead upon arrival. Her two friends were admitted to the hospital, and their conditions are reported to be critical.

Parimala had moved to the US for her studies in 2022 and was currently pursuing a master's degree in Data Science at The University of Memphis.

Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the cars had failed to stop and rammed into another vehicle.

Earlier, in another car accident, an Indian student had died in the UK, while four others were injured.

“Chiranjeevi Panguluri, 32, was a passenger in a grey Mazda 3 Tamura, which was traveling county-bound from Leicester towards Market Harborough before leaving the road and coming to rest in a ditch,” Leicestershire Police had said.

Pangiluri was later pronounced dead at the scene. Moreover, three other passengers, one woman and two men, in the vehicle and the driver were all taken to hospital.
